Self aware life forms who ponder their own mortality, are probably a lot rarer, but there has to be million upon millions of planets that have earthlike atmospheres, whether they are like earth was 3.5 billion years ago, or like earth is today.Baconeaterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11134934827966299989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35315805.post-80608265197896369532008-08-04T01:43:00.000-04:002008-08-04T01:43:00.000-04:00Like someone said above, the argument isn't valid ...Like someone said above, the argument isn't valid either for another reason. Just because we (according to Thomas) are in the perfect spot in space doesn't mean some divine power put us there, if we weren't in that spot we would just not be here. The universe being so vast, a planet being in the right spot was bound to happen eventually.Raúlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11319936401572404767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35315805.post-40246114398326263742008-08-03T11:58:00.000-04:002008-08-03T11:58:00.000-04:00The Douglas Adams puddle, that's all it is. This seems to have quickly moved, over the past 25 years or so, from highly improbable to improbable to possible - is it closing in on "likely" with the confirmation of water? Who knows? But IF we do find life on Mars... just one planet out of the hundreds of billions in the universe and the closest planet to Earth, you'd have to think that life then becomes quite likely anywhere. So much for god's special little creation.John Evohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10868904051881865159noreply@blogger.com
