I DON'T NEED TO HAVE MY MARRIAGE DEFENDED BY THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT

I love it. Or how about

"My Marriage isn't threatened by Gay Marriage - why is yours?"

I'd buy it. I wouldn't stick it to my car (I hate bumper stickers), but I'd buy it to support the message. And I absolutely agree with it.

Darn it, RedFerret, you beat me to it. I had an idea that's not nearly as snappy, but it pretty well sums up how I feel: "If you don't like Gay Marriage, Marry Someone of the Opposite Sex."

And for ministers/priests, pastors, "If You Don't Like Gay Marriage, Don't Perform One".

Marriage is a religious ceremony. Government has no business giving benefits to couples just because a priest waved his hands over them and certainly no business denying benefits to couples because a priest refuses to acknowledge their relationship.

Sorry Christopher, but great slogans too.

Don't agree that marriage is a religious ceremony though, only the religious ones are (I had a completely secular marriage in a beautiful old hotel, everything you can imagine in a "traditional" wedding, bride in big dress, morning suits, aisle, bridesmaids, etc, just no god(s)).

I do agree that benefits shouldn't be confered or denied just because of a priests beliefs.

Thought so... (The very colour You sub-consciously chose to write this very post here with betrays Your hidden, suppressed, denied desires)

You're quite a weirdo, Lucian. Get out much?

BTW, of course I used purple lettering Lucian, (it's called symbolism!) because the point of the slogan idea is that the religious fundamentalists battle cry is the need to protect traditional marriage from the gays. And my point is that my marriage is fine and I don't need these people to protect my marriage for me.

Hiding behind Your marriage again, Tom? Hmmm? >:)

I don't understand that dude at all.

Anyway, the one I came up with for the local Prop 8 rally was:

YOU DON'T GET TO DEFINE MY FAMILY

I, too, am happily married.

And so's this guy... :-|

I don't understand him either, Bullet. Basically, he's just an immature jerk looking for attention. Or maybe he's in the midst of a gay panic, and he's projecting his homosexual feelings on to others.

Hey! You're contradicting Yourself!

No, I don't understand why you feel the need to be an immature jerk.

Anyway, you've long since worn out your welcome here, and I would ask that you refrain from posting any further comments. Go find someone else to pester, like Rhology perhaps.

You're done here, Lucian. Get lost!
