Back in the Saddle Soon....I Hope

It's been a rough week. As reported in an earlier post, my mom was in the hospital. She has been back home since this past Thursday and it was never anything particularly serious, but it added greatly to the burdens I already have to shoulder. With my wife working, I had to bring my kids with me when visiting my mom in the hospital and dropping by her place to pick some things for her or attend to her affairs. To add to the misery, I caught a cold, which conveniently peaked this weekend, and again I was on my own with the kids. Consequently, my blogging has suffered.

I also realized that I could not get through all of this without finally admitting that I need to accept Jesus Christ as my lord and savior. I am not strong enough to do this on my own, and I finally understand that I had been deluding myself these past two decades. I shut God out of my life and wanted to believe that I could live without Him. And these preceding three sentences have been nothing but a bunch of baloney. I was just yanking your chains!

Seriously, I do hope to get back to blogging regularly again soon. I have bunch of ideas for posts I want to do but no time to do them. I feel bad, because last month was the best month I had thus far since I started using a sitemeter in May, and my traffic has dropped off this month. I hope I to recover my momentum going into the new year.

You don't really accept Jesus? No wonder he hasn't helped you win an Emmy or score the winning touchdown at the superbowl. Your loss!

Brian, I expect my fortunes to change for the better once I commit myself to Sikhism!

funny how you and your faithful blog readers act as the victim because you're the minority but what makes you different from a racist or a gaybasher?...you blatantly make fun of Christians like its okay...
would you teach you teach your children to hate Christians as well?

Hello Anonymous!

Have I written anything here on my blog to the effect that all Christians are stupid?

Or are you arguing that all religious claims should be exempt from either critical scrutiny or mockery.

Was I engaging in Christian bashing when I did a series of posts on Lina Joy, a Malaysian woman who converted to Christianity, but whose conversion was not recognized by the Malaysian government?

But you're going to see what you want to see, aren't you?

Um, like Christians don't constantly make fun of gays? Constantly? Not to mention that little doctrine about a place called Hell.

A Christian acquaintance of mine, upon my telling him that I'm no longer a believer, promptly told me that atheists are hated for good reason. Hated by whom, anon? So much for meaningful dialogue.

And nobody here acts like a victim.

Hi Andrea!

Thanks for stopping by and for your support.

You probably know that I am one of the more mellower atheist bloggers out there, so if this Anonymous person is pissed off at militant atheists, he/she is clearly venting at the wrong atheist!

Anonymous should go visit Shalini's blog Scientia Natura, where religious people are referred to as cretins and theistards on a daily basis.

Just for the record, I have nothing against Christians in general, as well as Muslims, Jews, Sikhs, Hindus etc. They are my friends, my family, and my neighbors. Many of them were raised in their religious tradition and their faiths provide them with a framework for living decently. The ones I have a problem with are the fascistically inclined ones who want use their religions as a means of control over the rest of us.

Ironically, the one person whom I have insulted in the strongest terms on this blog, John Edward, is a self-styled psychic medium. I wonder if Anonymous has a problem with that?

I've said it before and I'll say it again - you are the Ned Flanders of atheism, Tommy. *smiles* And you're right, there are much more strident opinions out there than the ones found in your posts here.

tommy, just saw this. I hope you are doing better. You sure have your hands full! (And then you have a little anonymous troll drive-by who comments without reading anything here!)

Take care and hang in there.

And best wishes to your mother. I am sorry to hear she had to go to the hospital again.

Hi Stardust. Thanks for stopping by. Things have settled down now thankfully. I'm looking forward to next week when my wife will be off from work which will ease my load considerably!
