Give The Gift of Life Part 2

This past Saturday I was pleased that I finally had some free time to go to Long Island Blood Services location in Melville to donate blood. I try to make an effort to donate 2 or 3 times a year.

In what seems to be an annual problem, blood supplies are at dangerously low levels, probably owing to the fact that many people are away on vacation.

If you are eligible to donate but have not done so, I urge you to give the gift of life.

I don't suppose nursing moms can donate? Might be just as well, it's always hell trying to get blood from my arms. I usually end up looking like the lead role in a slasher flick.

By the way, I'm back online:)

They won't let me donate... Chemo drugs. But I appreciate those who do.

Welcome back Andrea! Nice to hear from you.

I am not sure about whether nursing moms can donate, the offhand I don't believe it is a bar to donating.

I'm lucky in that I have a good vein in my right arm that's easy to tap.

Keep up the good fight Poodles.

Then again, I don't know why I bother donating anyway, because I am still going to burn in hell after I die because I refuse to accept Jesus Christ as my lawd and sayvya!

You could do good your whole life Tommy and you will still go to hell!

I can't donate blood either because I am on several medications. But, my husband donates every two months! Donated blood saved my life back in the late 70s when I nearly bled to death after a miscarriage. Then our daughter was two months premature and needed daily blood tests and transfusions to replace the blood that was taken.

If I could donate blood, I wouldn't think twice about doing so on a regular basis.

And I didn't get any gift cards to buy atheist books this time either!
